  • We don't guarantee any specific grade, score, or outcome.

Eligibility and minors

To create an Account in your own name and contract with us directly you must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract.

Students under 18

Lessons are open to students of all ages, but where the Student is under 18 (a “Minor”) the Account must be created by a parent or legal guardian (the “Parent”) in the Parent's own name and using the Parent's own payment method. The Parent accepts these Terms on the Minor's behalf and is fully responsible for the Minor's use of the Service, including conduct during Lessons and messaging.

For users in the United States, the Parent confirms that they are at least 18 and that they consent to our collection and use of the Minor's personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policyand applicable law (including the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act, COPPA, where the Minor is under 13). For users in the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area, the Parent confirms that they hold parental responsibility for the Minor and consent to processing for the purposes described in our Privacy Policy.

Geographic eligibility

We make the Service available worldwide, but you are responsible for complying with any local laws that apply to your use of the Service. We may refuse to provide the Service in jurisdictions where doing so would be unlawful for us, or where sanctions or export restrictions prohibit us from doing so.

Your account

You create an Account either inline during your first booking or directly from our registration screen. You agree to provide accurate, current and complete information when creating your Account, and to update it as needed.

Email verification

We require you to verify your email address before paying for any Lesson or Subscription. Verification protects you against account takeover and ensures we can reliably reach you about Lesson changes.

Account security

You are responsible for choosing a strong password, keeping it confidential, and for all activity that occurs through your Account. Notify us promptly at contact@logospheretutoring.com if you suspect any unauthorised access. We may temporarily suspend your Account if we have reasonable grounds to believe it has been compromised or is being misused.

One person, one account

You may not transfer your Account to anyone else, share your login credentials, or maintain multiple Accounts. A Parent may book on behalf of more than one Minor from a single Parent Account.

Deletion

You can request deletion of your Account from your profile or by contacting us. We may retain certain information after deletion where we are legally required to (for example, transactional records for tax purposes) or where doing so is necessary to defend legal claims. Details are set out in our Privacy Policy.

The Service

The Service is an online tutoring platform through which we deliver live, one-to-one Lessons in the subjects we list on the website. We provide the Lessons through professional tutors engaged by us. You contract with us for the delivery of each Lesson.

The Service is provided on an “as-available” basis. We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access: maintenance, third-party outages (for example, of our payment processor or video provider), and force-majeure events may interrupt the Service from time to time.

Who teaches your lessons

We assign a tutor to each Lesson you book. Although we aim for continuity from one Lesson to the next, the contract for each Lesson is between you and us. We may at any time, and without it being a breach of these Terms:

  • assign a different tutor to a particular Lesson (a “substitute tutor”) where the originally assigned tutor is unavailable — for example, due to illness, scheduled leave, or operational reassignment;
  • change the tutor assigned to your future Lessons, including for ongoing Subscriptions, where we believe a different tutor is a better match or where the original tutor is no longer available to teach the relevant subject;
  • split a multi-Lesson Booking across more than one tutor where a single tutor cannot cover every selected time, with your consent confirmed during the booking flow.

Where a substitute tutor is assigned, we will tell you in advance through your Account and (where applicable) by email. If we cannot provide a substitute in time, the affected Lesson will be treated as cancelled by us and will be refunded or rescheduled in accordance with the Cancellations section below.

Bookings

How a booking is made

You select a Lesson time from the calendar. At checkout we place a temporary Hold on the slot so it does not appear available to other Students. A Booking becomes a binding contract only when payment is successfully captured. If your payment fails or you do not complete checkout within the Hold expiry shown in the booking screen, the Hold is released and the slot becomes bookable by others.

Booking window and notice

Lessons may be booked between the Minimum Notice and the Booking Horizon. The exact values currently in effect are displayed in the booking screen and may be updated from time to time; we will not apply a change retroactively to Bookings that have already been confirmed.

Buffer between lessons

A short buffer is kept after each Lesson so that consecutive Lessons remain at least that buffer apart. The buffer does not require you to book earlier than the end of your tutor's availability window.

Multi-lesson and multi-tutor bookings

You may select more than one Lesson in a single checkout. When the times you have selected cannot all be covered by a single tutor, we may offer you the choice to continue with a single tutor (and adjust the remaining times within that tutor's availability) or to book across more than one tutor in the same checkout. Whichever you choose, each Lesson remains a separate scheduled session.

Pricing and payment

Prices

Lesson prices are shown in the booking screen before you commit to payment and include any applicable taxes unless we state otherwise. Hourly rates are set per subject and may be adjusted from time to time; changes do not affect already-confirmed Bookings or the current billing cycle of an active Subscription.

Multi-lesson discount

Where you book at least the configured number of Lessons in a single checkout (currently displayed on the booking screen as the “discount starts at” threshold) a multi-lesson discount is applied automatically. The discount applies only to the Lessons included in the same checkout and is not stackable with the Subscription discount described below.

Payment processing

All payments are processed by Stripe. By providing your payment details you agree to Stripe's terms and authorise us, through Stripe, to charge your payment method for the Lessons and Subscriptions you purchase. We do not store your full payment card number on our servers; payment data is handled by Stripe in accordance with its PCI-DSS-compliant systems.

Currency, taxes, and invoices

Prices are charged in the currency shown at checkout. Where applicable consumer taxes (such as VAT or sales tax) are added automatically, based on your billing address or service location. An electronic receipt is sent to your registered email after each successful payment. Tax invoices can be requested by writing to contact@logospheretutoring.com.

Failed and declined payments

If a payment fails, the corresponding Booking does not take effect and the Hold is released. For Subscription renewals, we will retry the charge in accordance with Stripe's standard retry schedule and notify you to update your payment method; if the renewal cannot be collected within a reasonable period the Subscription will be suspended and may be cancelled.

Weekly Subscriptions

A Subscription reserves a specific weekly time slot for you and grants you a defined number of Lesson Credits per billing cycle. Each billing cycle lasts 4 weeks (28 days), so every occurrence of your reserved weekly slot falls within a paid cycle. Subscriptions auto-renew every 4 weeks until cancelled.

Lesson Credits and reserved slot

Each billing cycle includes the configured number of Lesson Credits (typically corresponding to the number of weeks of Lessons in that cycle). Your reserved weekly slot is held for as long as the Subscription is active; if you wish to skip a Lesson the unused Credit is consumed for that week unless you cancel within the Refund Window.

Subscription discount

Subscriptions are billed at a discount to the equivalent per-Lesson one-off rate. The current discount is shown on the booking screen.

Prepay terms

You may pay for several billing cycles of Lessons in advance under a “prepay” arrangement (for example, twelve, twenty-four or forty-eight weeks) at an additional discount. The displayed savings reflect that additional discount versus standard 4-weekly billing.

Prepay terms are non-refundable. By choosing a prepay arrangement you accept that the prepaid amount cannot be refunded — whether in whole or in part — if you cancel the Subscription before the prepaid term ends. Individual Lessons within the prepaid term remain reschedulable subject to the Cancellations section below. This paragraph does not affect any statutory rights you may have as a consumer where those rights cannot lawfully be excluded.

Cancellation of a Subscription

You may cancel a Subscription at any time from your billing screen. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle: you retain access to your reserved slot and any remaining Lesson Credits for that cycle, and you will not be charged for the next cycle. Cancellation does not entitle you to a refund of any past payments except as set out in the Cancellations section.

Past-due Subscriptions

If a renewal payment is declined we may mark the Subscription as past-due. While past-due, your reserved slot remains held for a short grace period; if payment is not collected within that period the slot may be released and the Subscription cancelled.

Cancellations, refunds, and rescheduling

Cancellation by you — within the Refund Window

You may cancel a Lesson up to the start of the Refund Window before its scheduled start time and receive a full automatic refund to the original payment method. The current Refund Window is shown in the booking and cancellation screens and is currently [PLACEHOLDER: e.g. 12] hours.

Cancellation by you — after the Refund Window

Lessons cancelled inside the Refund Window — that is, less than the Refund Window before the scheduled start — are not eligible for an automatic refund. The Lesson is treated as delivered for billing purposes (or, for a Subscription Lesson, the corresponding Credit is consumed). In exceptional cases (for example, documented illness or emergencies) we may, at our discretion, offer a credit or reschedule.

Cancellation by us

If we cancel a Lesson — for example, because no substitute tutor is available — you will, at your option, be issued a full refund or rescheduled to a mutually acceptable time. If your tutor fails to appear within a reasonable time of the scheduled start (a “no show”) and we cannot reasonably reassign in time, the Lesson is treated as cancelled by us.

Rescheduling

You can reschedule a Lesson from your dashboard up to the start of the Refund Window. The new time must be available in the same tutor's calendar (or, for one-off Lessons, optionally in another tutor's calendar where the “Show other tutors” option is enabled). Rescheduling does not generate a refund or a new charge; it moves the existing Booking.

How refunds are processed

Refunds are issued to the original payment method through Stripe. Funds typically appear within five to ten business days, depending on your card issuer or bank. We do not issue cash refunds.

Consumer rights (EU and United Kingdom)

This section applies to you only if you are a consumer (acting outside the scope of your trade, business, craft or profession) and you contract with us from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction where consumer-protection legislation grants you these rights. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that, under applicable law, cannot lawfully be limited.

Right of withdrawal — cooling-off period

You have a statutory right to withdraw from the contract within 14 days of its conclusion, without giving any reason. Where you ask us to begin performance during this period — for example, by booking and attending a Lesson scheduled within the 14 days — you agree that we may charge you for Lessons actually delivered up to the point of withdrawal. Where a Lesson or Subscription has been fully performed during the cooling-off period with your express prior consent, you acknowledge that you lose your right to withdraw with respect to that performance.

How to exercise the right of withdrawal

To withdraw, send us a clear statement of your decision to contact@logospheretutoring.com including your name, your email address, and the Booking or Subscription concerned. We will refund all payments received from you (less any amount lawfully owed to us for Lessons actually delivered) without undue delay and in any event within 14 days of the day we receive your withdrawal notice, using the same payment method you originally used.

Statutory guarantees

Lessons are delivered with reasonable care and skill. Where a Lesson materially fails to meet that standard we will, at your option, either deliver a remedial Lesson at no further charge or issue a credit or refund, in accordance with applicable consumer law.

Online dispute resolution

If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, the European Commission provides an online dispute resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. We are not obliged and do not commit to use an alternative dispute-resolution body to settle disputes with consumers.

Additional terms for users in the United States

This section applies to you if your billing address is in the United States or you use the Service from the United States. To the maximum extent permitted by law:

Binding individual arbitration

Any dispute, claim or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service that cannot be resolved informally will be resolved by final and binding individual arbitration administered by [PLACEHOLDER: arbitration provider, e.g. the American Arbitration Association] under its then-current consumer arbitration rules, in [PLACEHOLDER: arbitration seat, e.g. county, state]. Judgment on the award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction. The arbitrator has exclusive authority to resolve any dispute about the interpretation, applicability, enforceability or formation of this arbitration agreement.

Class action waiver

You and we each agree that any proceeding will be conducted only on an individual basis and not as a class, consolidated or representative action. The arbitrator may not consolidate more than one person's claims and may not preside over any form of representative or class proceeding.

30-day opt out

You may opt out of the arbitration and class-action-waiver provisions above by sending written notice to contact@logospheretutoring.com within 30 days of first accepting these Terms, including your name, email, and an unambiguous statement that you opt out of arbitration. Opting out does not affect any other part of these Terms.

Small-claims carve-out

Either of us may bring a qualifying claim in the small-claims court of competent jurisdiction in lieu of arbitration, provided the action remains in that court and is brought only on an individual basis.

California users

California Civil Code §1789.3 — California residents may report complaints to the Complaint Assistance Unit of the Division of Consumer Services of the California Department of Consumer Affairs.

Acceptable use and conduct

You agree that you will not, and will not permit any Minor under your supervision to:

  • harass, abuse, threaten, defame or discriminate against any tutor, other student, staff member, or other person, including during Lessons and in messaging;
  • use the Service for unlawful purposes or to violate any applicable law, regulation, or third-party right;
  • record, screen-capture, broadcast, or share any portion of a Lesson or messaging without our prior written consent and the consent of every participant;
  • upload or share material that is unlawful, infringing, deceptive, sexually explicit, or harmful;
  • attempt to bypass authentication, rate-limiting, payment, or availability controls; or use scrapers, bots or automated tools to access the Service in a way not expressly permitted;
  • attempt to contact your tutor outside the Service to arrange Lessons for which we would otherwise be paid, or solicit our tutors away from the Service;
  • reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive the source code of any part of the Service except where applicable law permits and you have given us prior written notice and an opportunity to provide the information.

We may suspend or terminate your Account, cancel future Bookings, and refuse Service for breach of this section. Where the breach warrants, we may also report it to the relevant authorities.

Online classroom, video, and recording

Lessons are delivered through video meetings (for example Google Meet) and an interactive online whiteboard. By joining a Lesson you consent to the use of these tools, to your camera and microphone being used during the Lesson, and to any related processing of audio and video by us and our processors as needed to deliver and support the Lesson.

Recording of Lessons (audio, video, or screen) is not permitted without our prior written consent and the explicit prior consent of every participant. Where we record a Lesson with consent, the recording is used solely for the purposes consented to and is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Whiteboard content, file uploads, and messages shared in the classroom remain associated with the Lesson and may be made available to you afterwards in your dashboard.

Messaging

The Service includes a private messaging area between you and your tutor and, where relevant, our support team. Messages are not encrypted end-to-end and may be reviewed by us where necessary for safety, quality assurance, dispute resolution, or compliance with law. Messaging is provided to discuss Lessons; do not share unnecessary personal information, sensitive data, or payment details through messages.

Intellectual property

Our materials

The Service, including all teaching materials, exercise sets, whiteboards templates, branding and software, is owned by us or our licensors and protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Service for your personal, non-commercial use during the period of your active Account. You may not resell, sublicense, republish, redistribute or commercialise any portion of the Service or our materials without our prior written consent.

Your content

You retain ownership of the content you upload or create through the Service (for example, files shared with your tutor, work on the whiteboard, and messages). You grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to host, store, transmit, display and process that content as strictly needed to operate the Service for you and your tutor, to comply with law, and to defend legal claims. This licence ends when the relevant content is deleted from the Service, subject to any retention required by law.

Privacy and cookies

Our handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy. Strictly necessary cookies are used for login, booking, checkout, payment security, and fraud prevention. Optional analytics and marketing cookies are only used after you give consent, which you can review and change at any time from the cookie settings link in the footer.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your Account, cancel future Bookings, or refuse Service where you breach these Terms, where there are reasonable grounds to suspect unauthorised or fraudulent use, where required by law, or where we discontinue a subject or the Service generally. Where the termination is not due to your breach we will refund prepayments for Lessons not yet delivered.

You may stop using the Service at any time by cancelling any active Subscription and requesting Account deletion. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including those covering completed payments, refunds, consumer rights, intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification and governing law — will continue to apply.

Disclaimers

We aim to deliver high-quality educational sessions, but we do not guarantee any specific academic outcome, test score, grade, admission, or other result. Educational outcomes depend on many factors outside our control, including your engagement, preparation, and the requirements of your school or examining body.

Except where prohibited by law, the Service and all content are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory or otherwise, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free operation. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.

Limitation of liability

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for: (a) death or personal injury caused by our negligence; (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; (c) any matter for which it would be unlawful for us to exclude or limit liability.

Subject to the preceding paragraph and to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

  • we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, including loss of profits, loss of goodwill, loss of opportunity, or loss of data; and
  • our total cumulative liability arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service in any twelve-month period will not exceed the greater of (i) the total amounts you actually paid to us under these Terms in that period and (ii) one hundred (100) US Dollars (or the equivalent in your local currency).

The allocation of risk in this section is an essential element of the bargain between us and forms the basis on which we provide the Service at the prices charged.

Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless the Provider and its officers, directors, employees, contractors, and agents from and against any claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs or debt, and reasonable expenses (including legal fees) arising from: (a) your breach of these Terms; (b) your violation of any applicable law or third-party right; or (c) any content you upload or share through the Service. This section does not apply to consumers to the extent that applicable consumer-protection law prohibits it.

Force majeure

Neither party will be liable for failure or delay in performance arising out of events beyond its reasonable control, including natural disasters, government action, war, civil unrest, acts of terrorism, epidemics or pandemics, labour disputes, internet outages, or failures of third-party providers (such as Stripe or our video provider).

Changes to the Service or these Terms

We may modify the Service from time to time, including by adding, removing or changing features and pricing. We may also update these Terms. Material changes will be notified to you through your Account or by email, at least 14 days before they take effect (or sooner if the change is required by law). If you do not accept the updated Terms you may stop using the Service and, where applicable, cancel your Subscription before the change takes effect; continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

Notices

We may give notice to you through your Account, the email address associated with your Account, or by in-product notification. Notices to us must be sent to contact@logospheretutoring.com or to our registered address.

Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of [PLACEHOLDER: governing-law jurisdiction, e.g. England and Wales / State of California, excluding conflict-of-law rules]. Subject to the United States section above and to any mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence, the courts of [PLACEHOLDER: exclusive jurisdiction city/region] have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms.

If you are a consumer, you also have the right to bring proceedings in the courts of the country in which you are habitually resident, where applicable law gives you that right.

Miscellaneous

  • Entire agreement. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any policies referenced from within the Service, form the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.
  • Assignment. You may not assign or transfer your rights under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations to an affiliate or to a successor in connection with a merger, acquisition, restructuring or sale of assets, on no less favourable terms to you.
  • Severability. If any provision is held to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
  • No waiver. Our failure to enforce any right or provision is not a waiver of that right or provision.
  • No third-party beneficiaries. These Terms do not give rights to anyone other than you and us.
  • Language. The original and binding language of these Terms is English. Translations are provided for convenience only; in the event of any conflict, the English version prevails.
